This is the first New Year’s that I woke up on New Year’s day tired, not from a hangover, but from working until 330am. The restaurant overbooked with 315 covers on the books, not including walk-ins. I have to admit, I was nervous. Started off smooth and continued that way throughout the evening, surprisingly. With the party favors passed out, we toasted with champagne at midnight while watching the ball drop in the bar. Bun came in to visit me and stayed until I was able to leave way later that evening. Overall, it was exciting to spend another New Year with Athena and all my favorite, or not so favorite Greeks. Now starts a time of change. This year will be different, I can feel it.
